camogie

Camogie is one of the fastest and most exciting sports in the world. It combines the agility of soccer, the physicality of hockey, and the lightning-fast reflexes of lacrosse. Played exclusively by women, this ancient Irish sport features teams of 15 who battle it out with hurleys (wooden sticks) and a sliotar (leather ball), aiming to score points by sending the ball over the crossbar or into the net for a goal.

The San Francisco Gaelic Athletic Association (SFGAA) is proud to foster a vibrant camogie community in the Bay Area, welcoming players of all skill levels to take part in this dynamic and empowering sport. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to the game, camogie offers an incredible way to challenge yourself, build camaraderie, and experience the thrill of Irish heritage in action.

"Camogie is a game of skill, but it’s also a game of heart. Those who put in the effort will reap the rewards."
