The fastest game on grass, and the oldest (3,000 years) sport in the world. Hurling is played with 15 men on each team, 35 minute halves, on a 145m x 90m rectangle pitch.
A hurley is used to get the sliothar (ball) from player to player, or used to score, defend, and block. The sliothar can be hit long and short distances, or hand passed from player to player.
Hurling is best appreciated in person, and is a sport that evokes passion and enthusiasm through speed, agility, power, and is arguably the best sport in the world.
